I have a pet Roc I've been focusing my gene research on. I recently acquired about 25 Vermillion.
Yesterday I want and clicked the "research 1 gene" button a few times, and then it greyed out and wouldn't let me click anymore.
I checked back today and it is still greyed out. Is there a limit to how many genes you can research on a single pet?

You can only research the number of genes your pet posesses. If it is your level 5 Roc that you are talking about, then you have already researched all of its genes so the button will always be greyed out. If this is not the case, then you cannot research genes if the pet is doing an activity (crafting, pregnant, questing) and you must have 100 silver on you. Hope that helps? :)

How do you know which genes your pets possess? (And yes, I'm speaking of the level 5 roc. ^^)

dom gene is in gree which is what effects the creature the most
grey genes are just carried, and sometimes their combo with a dom gen will give it an ability.
