Aesop is one of the leaders of sal and Johans Deviant team. Sal and Johan are bad at their jobs and this team is their last chance before they are a booted

Beast thief alongside Johanus. Birth name is Daren de Ruscio, but he changed it for anonymity in his line of business. Rlly pale probbaly has anaemia or sum cause he lacks the iron and by that i mean hes no beef man. skinny bro

Johanus Johannuson

Beast thief alongside Salix. His beard is on fire almost constantly. Freckled round dude with ginger hair and a magnificent beard, if not a little crispy at the ends. Whatcha gonna do. Comes from a long line of Johanus Johannusons from the Clan Johannus, so technically he's Johannus XVII.

Jasper Raskop

Aesop Dimitriou

Pale, white beard and hair. Looks like a hippie and wears dusty, flowy clothes. Looks like a hobo from far away but he's murderous and will stop at nothing to succeed and get his team to succeed. Was much higher up in the Beastkeeper Black Market but fell from grace for an unknown reason... tune in next week to find out

Alba Rogan

Overachiever. Would eat a raw slice of ham off the floor if it meant she would meet her criminal idol, the mysterious head of BK Black Market. Tan skin and freckled all over, huge, very curly natural fuzz of dark brown hair. Doesn't seem like the beast thief type, but was born into it so it's been pretty much her dream job since she was 2 weeks old. 

Steven Kistler

Crazy good at his job and every job he has ever done. Golden boy of the not-so-golden BK Black Market. Disliked by Salix and many others for his easy, breezy, beautiful covergirl of the criminals vibe. Light skin, cropped brown hair, light blue eyes, tall and charming. So perfect you just hate him.

Zaira Teel

Undercover as a beastlord with Shanna, and also her girlfriend. hates the peaceful planning work and would do anything to get back out in the field stealing beasts. inventory is made up entirely of knives, and joined the black market beast trafficking career for money and only money, although there are mysteries surrounding her past. means serious biz

Shanna Barteau

Undercover as a beastlord with Zaira. zenlord in training, treats undercover work like a vacation and part time beast whisperer. lazy and outgoing, great liar which is why she's so good at her job. thinks animals are sound

Johanus Johannuson could never understand how he always messed up at the job, whether it be his beard catching fire or his favourite bug getting stabbed by a bloodthirsty unicorn's horn. He reaches out, lifting his hot mug of coacoa to his lips, pausing to lick an old crum from his beard. The stake out had been long and hard. And to top it off, they;d just run out of his favourite 'Single gals macaroni mix'

Johanus turns to salix, who's toying with his Puma's ears

"Today's the day'' he says, meeting Johanus's eyes, "We're going to show that steven son of a bitch who's boss" 

Johanus nods "And Alaba- no, abalalama- no, god why's this name so hard to pronounce- alamabamannan-"

"Alba?" Salix says, interrupting Johanus's profound stream of thought

 Johanus agrees "Oh ya thats the one. strongky dislike her" 

"Stronky, huh?" Salix said. He didn't laugh much, or at all, but Johanus was just so hopelessly hilarious he couldn't help but giggle.

Johanus frowned, probably realising his cocoa had no marshmallows, so Salix rose from his foldable camp chair. "It's freezing, so it's hard to tell" He began, "But I'd say the owners would be going out for that morning ride that Aesop's file informed us on. We can sneak in!" He exclaimed.

Johanus's eyes widened, "B-but my cocoa!" He wailed quietly, before speaking again "But uh.. I didn't really, like... read the file." He brushed his beard from whatever was stuck in it and adjusted his scarf, his face receding into it in embarassment. "Ugh, Johanus!" Salix groaned quickly retrieving the previously fresh, crisp file from under his rucksack, which had been stained earlier, smeared with jam with what he assumed was another johanus snack. He briskly opened the file, flipping through the pages onto the information about the owners. Johanus leaned in, petting his puma from under the makeshift camper bed table, and sipped his cocoa. Salix sat again, and began to read.

Mars Family Deviant Unicorn Stable

Date, 14-16 August 2018  Team, Salix and Johanus

Inhabitants of the farm are the parents Andros and Frederica Mars, their twin girls Jane and Juno, 15 and the stable boy on duty at the time of your stakeout is Oden Temple, 19.

Important information regarding your task: Initiate capturing the deviant beasts on the 16th, as this is the day we have a clear plan on when all inhabitants will be gone from the farm. At 0600 hours on the 16th, both parents and twin daughters go on a morning ride, coming back at roughly 0730 hours, or 7:30am. This will leave only the stable boy, from which we have confirmation from a previous info collection stakeout that he will be leaving the stable to go to the monthly market in a nearby town. However, there is a very rare chance he will not leave, so be cautious. At this time, enter the farmhouse and capture as many deviant pets as you can.

Salix finished reading and closed the file. Johanus looked mildly confused but Salix hoped at least some of that information had gone through his thick skull. "C'mon,  we should get going if we want to do this quickly." Salix swiftly retrieved his rucksack and double-checked that he had everything he needed.

In honesty, johanus's skills were lacking, from his clumsiness and his likelyhood to get distracted by insects, but he had a sort of charm, one where he could get caught stealing a roc, have his beard burst into flames and the owners would just laugh it off as he makes away with their animals. Sometimes he self doubts himself, on days where Alba gloats to him and Steven eats his jam from the work fridge, even though it has his name on it. But when Johanus is working with Salix he feels like hes one of the team 

Johanus looks over the file, pretending he can read "oh yes mm very interesting, I see" 

Salix rolls his eyes, saddling his Puma with the equipment "You go get the cart ready, and stay at the wheel, we need a quick getaway 

Johanus nods, attatching his Puma to the reigns, the plan is Johanus stays in the cart and doesnt get himself to trouble as Salix gathers the beasts. Sometimes Johnanus tends to wander off, so Salix had him weighed down with jam pots that will keep him busy.

Salix double-checked Johanus had enough jam to keep him going, before hopping up the step and getting himself settled into the cart.

He took the bag he'd left in the cart that was full of important beast thieving equipment. A couple of large canvas bags for any small yet difficult beast he may sedate, a tasing rod to keep whatever beasts he may herd moving, and it also doubled as a weapon against anyone who interferes. There was also some rope, a spare dagger and other tools haphazardly thrown together.

Bacchus, the puma, was very large for his already strong species, and was burly, large, and a sabertooth mutant so he was well fit for comfortably moving the cart. Salix gestured to Johanus, and he started his pet moving the cart with whipping the reigns and a "Hyah!" that he knew he didn't really need to do, but did anyway because it made him feel like he was doing something useful. While steered, Johanus munched on a bagel formerly stashed in his coat pocket.

Johanus narrows his eyes as the farm nears- so close he could almost taste it-

"Okay, you just wait here Johanus, alright? Just sit here, eat your jam and do absolutely nothing?" Salix says as the cart comes to a stop "Ill be back with the beasts as soon as I can"

Johanus nods, patting the jams in his jacket

Salix walks ahead with his Puma, confident in his step before freezing 

'What is it?' Johanus asks

Salix grits his teeth 

"Steven and Alba." 

He's sure it was them.

Salix could see Steven now, leading a pale blue deviant unicorn on a rope, and Alba near their own cart, which was loaded with deviant animals.

Johanus munches on his bagel again, the crunching noise getting on Salix's nerves. "For god's sake!" Salix said, both frustrated and angry "How the hell are they here? The owners would only just be going for their ride now, how could they get so many so fast?" He turned on his heel, fuming as he whipped the rucksack off his back, throwing it onto the forest floor.

"Why are they even here? This is our grab!" He yelled, looking up at Johanus who was wide-eyed with fear at his anger.

Salix knew Johanus would have the answers, as he'd gotten him to deal with the dates and telling Steven and Alba that they were taking over their case.

His teeth were grit angrily, as he slowly raised his head to look Johanus in the eye. "...Did you forget to tell them we were assigned to this stable instead of them?" Salix said, quiet but completely furious. Johanus took another bagel bite and coughed as he choked on it, trying to speak at the same time. He spat it out.

"..Uhh.."

Andros Mars

38 years old, Male. He has light skin, dark brown hair with a widow's peak, and dark green eyes. His relationship with his wife, Frederica, is troubled on both ends, as he has a tendencey to cheat, especially when drunk.

Frederica Mars

39 years old, Female. Frederica has dark red hair, hazel eyes, and tanned skin from many hours in the sun working at the stable. She is down to earth but has a fiery temper which can lead to many fights with her husband.

Jane Mars

15 years old, Female. Identical twin sister of Juno. She has red hair, mildly tanned skin and hazel eyes. She is bubbly and comes off as dumb and outgoing, but Jane is actually very intelligent and ambitious, and with an opposite goal from her sister, as she seeks stardom in fashion design. Jane is very oblivious to her parents' troubles.

Juno Mars

15 years old, Female. Identical twin sister of Jane. She has red hair, tan skin and hazel eyes. Juno is quickwitted and very good with animals, with a clear goal of carrying on her parents deviant breeding. She has a turbulent relationship with her father, Andros, and has recently confronted him about his cheating, which lead to a fallout.

Oden Temple

19 years old, Male. Stable boy working at the Mars' farm. He has brown hair, light skin with sparse freckles and dark brown eyes. He has good experience with unicorns and other beasts, but is chronically lazy, procrasitinates and isn't very good at his job. He likes to skip his duties when the family leaves to go to the market.

Beasts:

Queen's Grotto "Queenie", Female Unicorn 3GP NCDP Black Piebald. She is a very proud, stuck-up and difficult unicorn, but is a primary deviant breeder. Her usual breeding partner is Bravado, a male Unicorn DCDP Black Piebald from a stable near the Mars'.

Flame's Brood "Flame", Male Unicorn 3GP DCDP Okapi is an outstanding high-level beast, but still has serious issues with aggression. Oden, the stable boy, is very good with him and has been somewhat taming Flame's hostile disposition. He does not have a set breeding partner.

Johahnus wishes he could shrink back into his beard and dissappear, which he has done on a number of times, although it seriously strains his neck. 

'I'm sorry! I went up to change the paperwork but- uh- Im just so good at reading and writing that i didnt understand it!"

Salix sighs "Its alright. We're ust going to have to fight for this win, there's no way im letting steven and Alba get this one"

"Be careful!" Johanus exclaims, "Jasper told me that if Alba looks at you long enough you turn into stone" 

"Right..." salix says, not quite listening, instead he's calculating how to sabotage   Steven and Alba's catch- he runs through possibilities- all of which seem pretty bleak... That is unless he has some help 

Salix groans, "Take off your jam jacket Johan."

"But- But I always wear the jam jacket- its what keeps me in the cart!"

"Well you wont be in the cart. We're going to work together, alright?" 

Johanus's eyes light up brighter than a johan given a box of cream crackers 

"Salix Johan adventures!" Johanus exclaims 

"please dont call it that. Like ever again."

Salix wasn't even sure it would work. Not like it mattered, Aesop would be mad at them if they showed up with nothing or if they showed up with Steven and Alba's catches. He turned to Johanus, who was taking off him jam jacket, but taking a pot from it. He probably planned on bringing it.

"Alright, we're going to try to make it look like the animals escaped, and that it was their fault." Salix began, and Johanus tried his best to seem like he was listening. "Johanus, you need to distract them. Get them away from the cart so that it's out of view, and I'll set the unicorns free, and lead them to our own cart. Just do something that's sure to get their attention. Go Johanus crazy, Got it?" He said. Johanus nodded, licking jam from his fingers, obviously excited to finally be able to freak out like he wished he could do all the time.

Johanus dropped the jam and raced closer to the farm. Salix wasn't sure what he was going to do to lead them away, but it had better be good.
