I understand researching genes can be blocked during childhood and taming, but I would like to still be able to research genes on pets that are in trading or pregnant.

Actually, they aren't blocked in childhood. I have two babies right now with fully researched genomes. But I agree with you on researching pets that are pregnant or in trade. Or even on quests. If we're doing genetic research, it makes sense that we could do it on a sample of the pet's genetic material collected before it left/got pregnant/was put up for trade.

support on unblocking research all but a quest pet.
it could make a little sence that you have stored dna.. but i see more sence in being able to draw up fresh DNA. if a pet is on a quest, in game, they are "not" in your stable so you have no access to collect fresh DNA.

I support this, particularly for pregnant pets.
I'm looking for the recipes for Townhall lvl 5, Warehouse lvl 6, and Astrologist lvl 4. I'm also looking for 4 ancient horns, 4 snake eyes, 4 money tree saplings, and 4 nightcats.

Support... totally.
I really wish you could research pets that were being tamed.... Maybe have it as an upgrade to your lab? (Just for non-tame pets... I mean in reality wouldn't you have to contain or sedate a pet that wasn't tamed yet?)
Always looking for Expand Stable Scrolls
