The puma crept silently through the woods, admiring the beauty of the tall pine trees. She should probably be focusing on hunting, but the last thing on the young cat's mind was food. Echo flicked her tail, suddenly remembering why she'd come out here when she smelled a deer nearby. She sped to a brisk trot, hurrying towards the scent. Within moments, she caught up to the deer, hearing it running through the forest in front of her. She sped up, seeing its tan pelt. Within moments... Well, lunch. She looked up, smelling something else...

The Lykos bounded out of the trees from where he was hunting a deer, when a Puma had taken it. His hackles bristled and he bared his fangs at the young puma."Hey that was mine!" He snarled. With his hackles up and his black pelt, he was the size of a young bear, and he looked like it. The only thing giving him away was the spikes on the back of his head.

Wonder loved the feeling of wind in her feathers. She flew over the forest, watching a Lykos fight with a Puma, watching the wildlife everywhere. Then she noticed something. Something thin and pale, wearing colourful pelts. She swooped towards it and heard the high pitched yapper of humans.....

Echo's eyes widened, and she took a step back in fear of this new threat. "Oh!" she said, laying her ears back in an act of submission. "I'm sorry! You can..." She hesitated here, looking at the remains of the deer. "You can have the rest, if you want!" She stepped back, mostly to be that much farther from the angry lykos.

Shiver's hackles ease down and he stops snarling, he edges forward slowly."Thanks.." Then he bent down and took a bite of the deer, before stopping suddenly, the scent of something strange reaching his snout. He dropped the mouthful of prey and his hackles raised." Humans"

Echo smelled it too. She growled lowly, trying to figure out where the frighteningly strong scent was coming from. They were close... The puma stepped forward, sniffing the air. The wind was from the west... And the scent was blowing towards her. She looked in that direction, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. "They're over there," she said, suddenly seeming extremely scared.

Shiver took a step towards where the Puma was looking."Well they better leave before they have to deal with me!" He started running towards the humans. He barged through a bush and saw a human...........

Echo crept after him, unwilling to be left alone in a forest that could possibly be teeming with humans. She saw the human as well, and her eyes widened. She seemed frozen in place.

The human saw the two creatures and froze, staring at them. Then it let out a cry of surprise, reaching for a long stick at its belt.

Shiver watched, as the human reached for some osrt of stick at his waist. He had seen one only once before. The day his parents had died. He ran at the human, snarling and snapping at him. The human raised the stick and there was a loud BANG! And Shiver dropped to the ground, his chest rising and falling slowly.......

Echo watched in horror as the Lykos droped to the ground. Every instinct was screaming at her to run, but her paws refused to obey her. She couldn't leave the Lykos... The puma growled at the human, trying to make herself look bigger as she lunged forward, sinking her teeth into his calf.

Ivy stood at the top of the hill and looked down at the beasts fighting the humans. They looked like they needed help, so she began to bound down the hill. She tripped and rolled down the rest of the way. When she stopped she quickly got up and looked to see if anyone had seen her. Nope. Sweet. She shook herself and crept toward the others.

Blood seeped from the wound in Shiver's shoulder. He tried getting up to help the Puma but stummbled and fell, landing on the wounded shoulder.....

Wonder heard a High pitched yelp that sounded like it came from a human. She flew towards the sound and saw a wounded Lykos on the ground, a Puma fighting a human and another Lykos coming to help....

Shiver shook with pain as his soulder throbbed. He could smell the metallic scent of blood, and the sharp sting of smoke..... His vision started dimming, he shook his head trying to clear it, he saw the human raise the stick, pointing it at the kind puma before black conquered everything.........

Echo lashed out at the human with one large paw, feeling her claws meeting flesh... Then the human raised its dangerous stick and she didn't have enough time to jump out of the way before a deafening bang met her ears and she yowled in agony, stumbling back before her legs gave way underneath her and she fell. The pain in her hind leg was excruciating. She squeezed her eyes shut, so she wouldn't see as the human raised its stick to kill her. But the killing shot was never fired.

She opened her eyes slowly, pushing herself up into a sitting position. Sort of. Her wounded leg was stretched out stiffly beside her, and she couldn't move it. The pain was making her head spin, but she watched as the human's attention was captured by another Lykos creeping towards the group.
