I love the new picture on top of the guide!

Pure Snow can be entered into the Astrologist. This makes finding it much easier.

So I have an Astroligist building, How do I change which item it 'finds'?

Go to your buildings and find your astrologist. Click on it and youll see a text box to enter what you want to find. Once you type it in click "Save" and youre good to go.

It won't let me get to the next level and my pet has beaten every monster I came across.

You need to find a green portal to go through in order to pass to the next level of tundra. If you've found one and can't go through it, it's likely because you don't have any portal energy cells.

Hey everyone!

How do you get Portal Energy Cells?

You'll have to buy the scheme for charged sticks (or you can buy charged sticks in the state store, but they're very expensive there) and the scheme for portal energy cells. They have to be crafted :)

A few things I noticed recently, and thought I'd mention in case anyone else has missed them:

First, Polar Salmon is the only food item to be found in the Tundra. However, where most such items will only increase one type of food in your Inventory, Polar Salmon will increase three. If you find 20 Polar Salmon, your Animal Carbohydrates, Animal Proteins, and Animal Fats will all increase by 20, not just one of them.

Second, you can have multiple pets creating items from the same recipes simultaneously. This is useful for things like Charged Sticks and Portal Energy Cells—if you have 3 available crafter pets and enough materials for 15 batches, you can (for example) set one pet to create one batch for quick use, one to create 4 batches for tomorrow, and the last to create 10 batches for later in the week.

Third, the Artisan trait can be useful in Tundra season! Artisan is both a Paws gene of dragons and a universal trait of Worker Throdama. Pets with this gene will return some crafting materials unused after crafting. Since Charged Sticks are hard to get--if you buy them in the state store they're expensive, and if you craft them they require hard to find materials--this can be very useful indeed! The catch: unless your pet's stats are very high, you have to craft in relatively large amounts to save effectively. The amount saved is between 5% (default value) and 20% (if your pet exceeds the crafting characteristics by 30 points). So, if you have a worker throdama with the exact minimum stats to craft Portal Energy Cells and have it make one batch, it will use all of the Charged Sticks and return none of them. However, if you use that same pet to craft 4 batches of Portal Energy Cells (requiring 20 Charged Sticks as materials) it will return 1 charged stick. And if you have a Worker Throdama (or artisan dragon) that exceeds the requirements by 30 or more stat points, it will return one-fifth of the charged sticks it crafts with.

I'm wanting to breed my Etelia. So far no luck, I'm not sure what I'm meant to do with the Etelia in the tundra. Do I just explore around with it, and eventually something will pop up saying it wants to breed? Or is it a building that I have to approach?

Thanks in advance for any help!! ^^

Go to as  many islands with it as possible - one island will have a pop up asking if you want to breed.

Click yes, your etelia disappears and two snowflakes appear in your inventory.

I'm trying to farm ice for my first etelia, but am having trouble battling the wild ones that are on level 13+ islands. Would it be recommended to reach a point where you're stuck, leave the island and then start from lvl 1, or try and force your way past to get to the deeper level (trading portal energy cells for possible ice)?

For me, I just restarted around Island levels 10-12, whenever the monsters got too difficult. I had a lot of Energy Flow Cards though, and had pets (almost) constantly crafting charged sticks, and energy cells.

Not sure if I'm participating in tundra this year but this is a nice guide.

@Nightswan, I think you should try to get one pet to force it but follow Charix's advice for the rest - like one just for kicks, but the rest for ice farming.

:)
